Many clients may not understand the difference between boudoir and erotica photography. It mainly comes down to intent, tone, and how much is revealed—both visually and emotionally.

  • Boudoir is about confidence, empowerment, and intimacy without being explicit.
  • Focuses on feeling sexy, not necessarily showing everything
  • Often includes lingerie, robes, sheets, topless or implied nudity
  • Posing is flattering and suggestive, but not graphic
  • The goal is usually self-love, confidence, empowerment
  • Emotionally, it feels romantic, soft, playful, or powerful
  • Think: “I feel beautiful, sexy and confident in my body”

At Southern Honey Boudoir, we specialize in creating a luxury boudoir experience that is equal parts empowering, intimate, and beautifully styled. Our sessions are designed to highlight your confidence in a way that feels tasteful, elegant, and undeniably sexy.

We proudly offer:
Solo Female Boudoir Sessions – Designed to celebrate your confidence, beauty, and individuality

Couples Boudoir Sessions – A romantic and intimate experience that captures your connection in a refined, artistic way

Every session is guided with expert posing and direction to ensure you feel comfortable, confident, and fully taken care of throughout your experience.

Erotica may include graphic posing, full nudity, or overtly sexual scenarios, and is often designed to be more visually intense. The focus shifts from empowerment and self-love to sexual expression and arousal as the central theme.

While erotica is a valid and widely appreciated art form, it exists in a different category than the style of work we provide, which is rooted in tasteful sensuality, elegance, and empowerment.

  • Can include explicit nudity or sexual acts
  • Posing and imagery are more graphic and intentional
  • The goal is often to evoke desire or tell a sexual story
  • Emotionally, it leans more toward raw, intense, or provocative

What We Offer

What Is Boudoir?

What Is Erotica?

At this time, we do not offer solo male boudoir sessions.

Our studio environment, styling, and overall experience are intentionally designed with a feminine aesthetic in mind. From wardrobe options and set design to posing guidance and lighting techniques, our expertise is centered around photographing and flattering the female form. We do have the ability to make couples sessions work but do not have options for solo male sessions.

Because of this, we choose to focus on what we do best—creating an elevated, confidence-driven experience tailored specifically to women and couples. This allows us to maintain a consistent level of quality, comfort, and artistry for every client we serve.
